Who are we?
In April of 1996, the talented guitarist Jacky Ambroise created a new genre of music that would transcend boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide. Inspired by his passion for Spanish guitar, he developed "Flamenco Tropical," a unique blend of Spanish guitar melodies infused with vibrant Haitian rhythms and a tropical flair. This innovative fusion gave rise to the band, Strings.
Flamenco Tropical is more than just a genre—it's a cultural symphony where Spanish classical elements dance harmoniously with the rich textures of Afro-Caribbean beats. This dynamic combination led Jacky to compose the iconic track "Metamorphosis," followed by numerous other celebrated pieces recorded across seven albums.
Strings redefined Haitian traditional music, offering a fresh and original sound that resonates with diverse audiences around the globe. The band, composed of eight exceptional musicians—including guitarists and percussionists—delivers captivating performances that appeal to listeners of all backgrounds.

Jacky Ambroise
Lead Guitar/ Maestro
Jacky Ambroise set out to create a groundbreaking new style of music. After years of performing traditional Haitian genres like Konpa Direk and Troubadour, he decided to blend these influences with his Spanish classical guitar training. This creative fusion sparked the composition of what would become the renowned piece “Metamorphosis.”
Eager to explore this new musical direction he founded the band “Strings” and, within a few months, crafted the genre they named “Flamenco Tropical”—a vibrant fusion enriched with bass guitar and dynamic percussion.
Jiggy Jack
Rhythm Guitar/ Band Leader
In 2017, the next generation joined the legacy as Jacky's son, Jacques Olivier Ambroise, affectionately called 'Jiggy Jack,' stepped into the spotlight. He not only enriches the sound with rhythm guitar and vocals but also serves as a bridge between generations, guided by his maestro father. Together, Strings continues to captivate audiences with their soulful melodies and electrifying performances, embodying a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation."
Travel, Hospitality & Production Requirements
For all engagements outside the Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Florida area, the following must be arranged and covered by the client in addition to the performance fee:
Hotel Accommodations: Minimum four-star hotel or equivalent, consisting of four single rooms and two double rooms
Airfare: Round-trip airfare for all musicians and staff from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) or the nearest suitable airport
Baggage: All fees associated with checked luggage, musical instruments, and equipment
Ground Transportation: Transportation between the airport, hotel, performance venue, soundcheck, and any required rehearsal location
Per Diem: $75 per person, per day for meals and incidentals, unless all meals are provided by the client
Audio-Visual Production: Professional sound, lighting, staging, backline, and other production requirements must be provided according to the band’s technical rider unless otherwise agreed upon in writing
All-Inclusive Packages: At the discretion of Strings management, an all-inclusive package may be offered that combines the performance fee with approved travel, lodging, transportation, baggage, per-diem, and audio-visual production expenses. Availability, inclusions, and pricing will be determined based on the event location, travel dates, venue, and production requirements.
These provisions help ensure the comfort, safety, and performance readiness of our team, allowing Strings to deliver the highest-quality experience for every engagement.
